Yesterday marked the official birth of a new campaign worthy of all our smiles and applause! #FreshTakes encourages artistes to take a step forward and direct their own short films, while newcomers get a taste of what it’s like to be lead characters. I think it’s a small yet vital step for the Singapore entertainment industry to keep pushing, growing and expanding.

Many artistes struggle for years trying to pursue their dreams and yet make ends meet. It’s tough, trust me. It’s really tough. Especially when Netflix comes into the picture. So when a platform like this arises, content creators get to step up and showcase what they got. Baby steps, but at least we’re moving forward and opening our options! I’m showing this initiative my fullest support, and I hope you do too! The first episode airs on the 15th of March, 9PM on Channel U ☺️🧡
